COVID-19: Island Health colleagues, we see you.
Our thoughts are with our frontline workers. With the 6,500 staff and physicians at Royal Jubilee and Victoria General hospitals who work around the clock to be there for our loved ones. With those who support, care, test, operate, rehabilitate. With those who clean our hospital rooms and equipment. With those who are always there for us.
When a pandemic like COVID-19 is impacting healthcare systems around the world, work in hospitals can intensify greatly.
We wish to express our continued support and gratitude for all that our hospital care teams do. We know you feel the same. Their commitment and dedication in the face of new challenges help to keep our community safer, no matter the situation.
Out of an abundance of caution, and in support of our caregivers and hospital staff, we are postponing our tours and events in our hospitals. But we are with them in spirit. We continue to work to ensure they have the right tools in their hands to help advance the level of care they provide. For their safety, and the safety of our community.
Island Health colleagues, we see you and we thank you.
