“It’s time to bring the latest in surgical innovation and cancer care to our local hospitals.

I have been a proud supporter of the Victoria Hospitals Foundation since 1989 when the Foundation first formed. In my time, I have seen great progress and a growing number of supporters who want the best healthcare possible in Victoria, and for the whole of Vancouver Island.

It is with deep thanks to the care provided here locally, I am committing to match all gifts to the Foundation’s It’s Time for Surgical Innovation campaign up to $1 million, because I believe this is a landmark campaign for our community. There has been nothing like it and I am proud to be investing in a suite of equipment that is innovative, transformative, and best in class.

I have heard from our exceptional team of urologists, including Dr. Jeff McCracken, how transformational this campaign is, and how so many of these brand-new tools will introduce life-changing procedures to the Island, including for enlarged prostates and prostate cancer. Also, the best equipment in our hospitals attract the best talent. Dr. Gregory Hosier is one of the newest recruits to the Division of Urology with incredible talent and accolades. He came to Victoria on the premise we would have top-of-the-class equipment so he could bring top-of-the-class procedures to the Island. I am proud to be supporting this campaign and sharing this message: fundraising helps us elevate and get the best hospital care that we all deserve.

Healthcare is the most vital and deserving cause we can support in our community. I invite you to join me in championing this campaign and our incredible surgical teams. Every contribution counts toward change, and raising the bar in our community and for our community.”
