Carolyne was my dearest friend. When I lost her last fall, it left a hole in my heart. She was the kind of person who was always there for you, throughout life’s ups and downs. I never could have imagined, when I first met her while out boating with my husband, that it would blossom into a lifelong friendship that spanned the decades. Together, we shared laughter, tears, and countless adventures, traveling the world and creating memories that will forever be etched in my heart. 

‘Carol,’ as she was affectionately known, was the light of every room, her warmth and generosity drew people to her wherever she went. Her kind heart made her beloved by all.  

We depended on one another like family and were closer than most sisters. When she became ill a few years ago, I was right by her side, and when she passed, I knew I needed to honour her in a way that would leave a legacy. 

I intentionally made a gift to the Foundation in her honour because she had received excellent care in our local hospitals throughout her life. She greatly admired the work of our local caregivers, who like Carol, devote themselves to helping others. 

Carol’s friendship was a gift that brought me so much joy. With this donation, I hope to share that happiness, offering comfort to patients and support to caregivers, just as Carol’s friendship did for me every day.
