Long-running uplands golf tourney raises funds for cardiac care

Uplands Golf Club Heart Tournament is the longest running golf tournament in British Columbia. Since 1978 — thanks to donors, sponsors, partners, and players like you — the Uplands Golf Club Heart Tournament has raised more than $2.6 million for the Heart Health program at Royal Jubilee Hospital through the Victoria Hospitals Foundation in support of leading-edge cardiac care on Vancouver Island. Equipment you funded includes: cell savers, a heart lung bypass machine, an intra-aortic pump, an operating room table, bedside cardiac monitors, stretcher beds, external pacemakers, ventilators, defibrillator monitors, and more. The cumulative impact this has on patients’ lives and quality of care is monumental and enduring.

This year, we raised $120,000 to support the purchase of a new $1.7 million replacement C-Arm for the Heart Catheterization Laboratory for use during angiograms, diagnostic procedures performed by cardiologists to obtain detailed x-ray images of a patient’s heart and coronary blood vessels.
