5,900+ donors supported this campaign; thank you!
Imaging needs in our hospitals are ongoing.
Medical Imaging is Powerful.
Will you help us transform local medical imaging?
Together, we are raising $11 million to bring the latest medical imaging technology to Vancouver Island. Help us support a project initiated by local Radiologists, and upgrade six powerful pieces of equipment for better patient outcomes.
Your Help is Needed to Fund Six Pieces of Vital Equipment
3 MRI Upgrades
1 at Royal Jubilee Hospital, 2 at Victoria General Hospital
You can help upgrade three MRI machines, costing $2 million each. The machines will be stripped down to their magnetic core and completely rebuilt. Your giving has the power to provide all the benefits of a brand-new system at one third of the cost. This installation is more cost effective, will be far less disruptive to everyday hospital care, and is kinder to the environment. It is one of the first projects of its kind in Canada. Benefits include faster scan times, AI technology, a larger bed capacity, and simultaneous imaging capabilities.
In our hospitals, MRI technology makes a difference for patients of all ages, from every area of care, and throughout all stages of a healthcare journey.
1 CT
Replacement
Victoria General Hospital
You can help replace the oldest CT scanner on Vancouver Island—an equipment piece that accounts for over 15,000 scans every year.
1 SPECT/CT
Replacement
Royal Jubilee Hospital
You can support the Nuclear Medicine department at RJH by helping replace the existing 20-year-old SPECT/CT machine.
C-ARM
Replacement
Royal Jubilee Hospital
You can help replace a 13-year-old C-Arm, supporting over 2,000 cardiac interventional procedures every year.
Donors to the Imaging is Power campaign will play an integral role in advancing the latest equipment in our hospitals. Strategic partnerships with the Capital Regional Hospital District, the Ministry of Health, and Island Health will ensure the size and scale of a project like this can be achieved. Together, we can do so much for all 886,000 of us on Vancouver Island.
