A gift of securities is the most efficient way to give charitably.
The Canada Revenue Agency does not apply capital gains tax on donations of publicly traded securities. If you make a gift of appreciated securities to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation, we pay no capital gains on the increased value of the securities, and you receive a tax receipt for the full fair market value of the gift. This allows you to maximize your tax savings while supporting a great community cause.
